First Baptist offers the Awana Club program for children ages 2 years to 4th grade. AWANA stands for "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed," which is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. The goal of Awana Clubs is to reach boys and girls for Christ and train them to serve Him.

Puggles
A new addition to the AWANA program (2007) is the Puggles program for 2 year olds.  As this page is updated, FBC will provide more information on details for this age group.

Cubbies is for preschoolers during the two years prior to regular kindergarten, usually three and four year olds (age as of September 1). The primary focus of Cubbies is to teach children the love of Jesus Christ in a fun and nurturing environment.

Well-trained, dedicated adult leaders who have a strong love for the Lord Jesus Christ and a strong love for children supervise the activities at each club meeting. Each week, Cubbies will work on an art project, sing songs, have a group story time with a puppet show, and go to the gym for game time. They will also recite the Bible verse they learned that week to their leader. Each activity is designed to continually reinforce the Bible lesson that is being taught that week. Cubbies is unique because it supports and maintains parents as the primary source of spiritual nurturing by directly involving them in the teaching and learning process.

Sparks is the Awana Club for kindergartners, first-graders, and second-graders. Each club meeting has three parts. In Game Time, Sparkies enjoy entertaining games played on the Awana Game Circle. During Green Meadow Time, Sparkies gather for their age-appropriate Bible lesson. During Sparkle Time, clubbers recite Bible verses from memory, complete handbook sections, and earn awards.
