How to Make FBCH Your Home Church

At the conclusion of each worship service, our pastor will issue an invitation to become a part of the fellowship.  There are several ways to become a member.
  • By profession of your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and by being baptized by immersion.
  • By promise of a letter from another Baptist church of like faith
or
  • by your statement that you are a Christian and that  you have. been ba;ptized by immersion in a church of like faith and order
and
  • Attend a Membership Orientation Class
 

Membership Orientation is a class where you can come to learn more about what we believe and the ministries we have. In this class, you will hear from our pastor he shares about First Baptist Harrison’s mission, purpose, and how you can be involved. Everyone is welcome this event, and we offer childcare for the class.  Contact the church office about date and time for the class. 

This class is a requirement for membership.  It is offered about once a month on Sunday afternoon.  The class will help you make a prayerful decision.

FBCH History

First Baptist Church of Harrison was founded on August 30, 1890. In the beginning, the church was known simply as the Harrison Baptist church, for there was no other Baptist church in town. Baptists, however, had lived and worshiped in Boone county for many years. The Crooked Creek Association (a forerunner to our current North Arkansas Baptist Association) met in 1889 to appoint those who would look over the Baptist cause in Harrison. After a revival led by evangelist and musician Bro. William Evander Penn (where converts were baptized in Crooked creek), First Baptist Church was born.
